Addam Yekutieli, Know Hope American, b. 1986

Biography

Addam Yekutieli, known as Know Hope, has been showing his work in public space and galleries since 2005, with a universe that is both poetic and political. While the Israeli-Palestinian conflict represents a strong social and intellectual framework for his work, living in the city of Tel Aviv in Israel, his subjects of reflection are the border, identity and humanity. His work features a recurring symbolic character, standing in physical and metaphorical situations, with his heart sewn onto his sleeve, leaving his usual place empty.

Know Hope's textual interventions and site-specific installations in urban fringe locations echo his studio works in ephemeral or raw materials such as cardboard, paper or wood, often in the form of assemblages. More and more photography is included, reflecting the artist's view of the world around him. A look full of hope and love.

Addam Yekutieli has an important track record on the international contemporary art scene, his work has already been shown in museums (the Roskilde Museum of Contemporary Art in Denmark has acquired one of his installations) and he is exhibited by major galleries in Los Angeles, London and Tel Aviv.
