Nicolas Barrome Forgues French, b. 1980

Biography

With a background in applied art, Nicolas Barrome Forgues developed his illustrative work within the Jeanspezial collective, which he co-founded in 2000 with his mural-painting buddies. They soon produced numerous campaigns for major brands such as PlayStation, Orange, Adidas and the RATP. Then, in 2012, the illustrator decided to launch his solo career. He then gave himself the freedom to explore new fields of creation, from engraving and etching to stained glass and 3D printing. His thirst for learning and his hypercreativity led him to become a fully-fledged, multidisciplinary artist with a unique and identifiable universe. Nicolas Barrome Forgues is equally influenced by pop culture and classical painting. With a palette of saturated colors, he brings a melancholy joy to his work, celebrating the living world and food in particular, in abundant and often droll collective scenes, populated by a galaxy of characters like Francis, the bacon slice. It's this mix of emotions and cultural confrontation that makes our times so rich!
