The Feebles French, b. 1986

Biography

Anaël Moreau & Gaëtan Guerlais live and work in Nantes. Lifelong friends, they both followed paths focused on imagery, graphic arts, and communication, and their shared passion for art gradually led them toward studio work, which has been taking shape for about a decade. In 2013, they created their own creative studio, which has allowed them to work on projects for brands such as Uniqlo, Adidas, or Stetson, public commissions, as well as studio works exhibited in galleries. For example, in 2020, the city of Nantes commissioned them to create large-scale works to decorate the bike lanes on three bridges crossing the Loire River.

The guiding principle of their artistic duo is freedom. With a genuine love of material, Anaël Moreau & Gaëtan Guerlais also enjoy exploring a wide variety of mediums and techniques, on all scales, ranging from painting to sculpture. Always placing pleasure at the heart of creation, they develop art that celebrates life in all its forms.

Indeed, it is a rich floral universe into which the viewer is immersed, offering an exploration of the living world, in constant movement from one season to another. With a formal balance between mass, volume, and color, The Feebles’ works sit between abstraction and figuration, generating a sense of gentle euphoria.

At a time when artists like Jean Jullien are achieving worldwide success in the art market, the CHENUS LONGHI gallery is closely following this vibrant artistic scene of creators from graphic design and illustration whose polymorphic work knows no bounds. Like Nicolas Barrome Forgues or Jérôme Masi, The Feebles are part of a turning point in urban contemporary art, marking themselves as essential talents.
