Overview
We are delighted to present the very first solo exhibition of Belgian artist Iota (Élisa Morlet). Known for her monumental murals created across the globe, this rising star of contemporary muralism unveils for the first time the outcome of her studio-based explorations through a new body of previously unseen works.
Iota — whose name in Greek refers to “the smallest detail” — has been developing a deeply sensorial visual language for over a decade. Her painting evokes the elemental forces of nature, its slow transformations, and hidden tensions. At once dense and fluid, her universe reveals an organic abstraction from which enigmatic human figures occasionally emerge.
For this debut solo show, Iota deliberately steps away from the wall to reconnect with the intimate gesture of the studio. She presents an entirely new selection of works on canvas, on paper, and — for the first time — on glass. Glass, a material both solid and transparent, extends her visual and symbolic research into the invisible: that imperceptible yet omnipresent matter which echoes the shadow zones of our consciousness, memory, and emotions.
This exhibition invites us to look differently — to engage our full sensory potential. It reveals a practice at full maturity, delicately balanced between restraint and intensity, between technical mastery and poetic release.
