Mist: Réminiscence

15 - 18 September 2022
Overview
Since 2021, Mist has been rethinking his work through the prism of time and his previous series, in order to compose a new one based on the defragmentation of forms. This new exhibition "Reminiscence" is part of this continuity. The artist has further enriched his palette of proposals inviting the viewer to zoom in a little more in the composition and enter a dance of thick black lines, as many deconstructed letters, all in depth of field.
This new series is reminiscent of stained glass and with it the conception that the Cloisonnists of the late 20th century had of painting. Paul Sérusier, Emile Bernard and Paul Gauguin had the idea of simplifying and recomposing the perceived image into elementary forms with bright colors surrounded by an outline: the drawing affirming the color and the color affirming the drawing. The artist presents more than thirty paintings on canvas at the District 13 fair in the beautiful historic setting of the Hôtel Drouot in Paris.
