Rero: Image Negation

29 September - 11 October 2012
Overview

For its second exhibition, the gallery Chenus Longhi exhibits the work of the French artist Rero through a selection of multiples, on the occasion of the publication of his monograph "Image Negation" by Critères Éditions. Rero is an artist whose proposal is both plastic and rich in meaning; this is what emerges poetically in the photographs of his in situ interventions in abandoned places, notably in the former GDR, which he surveyed a few months earlier, but also in natural landscapes such as a field or a river, made as part of the a-part festival in Saint-Remy en Provence. In addition to these photographs (limited to 8 or 20 copies), the gallery exhibits a selection of three embossings, as well as brand new silkscreens in very limited edition. Enhanced by hand, these multiple works all become unique.
