Levalet: Everyday Life Circus

7 May - 4 June 2016
Overview

The works and installations I created for this exhibition seek to divert the different codes specific to the circus imagination to address themes such as human migrations, overmediatization, confinement or even financial speculation.” — Levalet

Levalet will be using the four rooms and three floors of the gallery space to display a collection of scenes inspired from the daily life of a circus. Thus reconnecting with the world of performing arts he originally comes from, Levalet is bringing together bowling, ani- mal tamers, jugglers, and trapeze artists to offer us a breathtaking show as well as a most certainly playful exhibition. Like urban art, circus is a travelling and very popular art interacting with the audience through hu- mor. For this exhibition the artist will present a selection of about thirty artworks, drawings and installations among the biggest formats he has ever created.
