Mist: Match Point

11 May - 8 June 2019
Overview

The paintings of Mist, a child of graffiti, express the substance of his roots. We feel the presence of the character, the outline of the letters that blend into the meanders of shapes and colours, each more vivid than the last. But while toy design is now back in the spotlight, and Mist is preparing a new toy with the famous Japanese publisher Medicom, it is also important to place it in the history of street culture. “Match Point“ celebrates his 3d work — what could be more normal after the presentation of his giant Goldorus at the 2019 edition of Urban Art Fair — through a selection of sculptures.
“Match Point“ also marks the beginning of a new cycle, in the form of a new inspiration and a new pleasure: that of playing, painting and creating. The exhibition takes stock of Mist's various series and the directions he is beginning to take, on the road to total freedom in both gesture and painting. Marked for life by the Peter Pan syndrome, the adolescent artist will have a great time in the four rooms of the gallery and will invite the visitor to do the same... The scenography proposes a real interaction with the public, around a basketball basket and a free shooting contest organised every Saturday in the gallery.
