Éric Lacan: Brûlures [à prendre au 3ème degré]

23 January - 6 March 2021
Overview

“Derision and humour can be found in the filigree of Éric Lacan's works, echoing the oxymoronic character of his work, between Eros and Thanatos.“

For his fourth exhibition at Galerie Chenus Longhi , Éric Lacan has chosen the title Brûlures (burns) evoking that double sensation of heat and pain, a mixture of pleasure and suffering that is characteristic of artistic creation. Considering himself to be in a permanent learning process, Éric Lacan has always enjoyed taking on new technical challenges.
The artist wishes to use the subtitle of his exhibition to distance himself from the seriousness of his subjects. This derision can be found in the filigree of several of his works, echoing the oxymoronic character of his work, between Eros and Thanatos.
This new exhibition presents some thirty brand new pieces staged throughout the three rooms of the gallery, inhabited for the occasion by a nature frozen in time.
