Dan Rawlings: 2052 [institutional show]
Past exhibition
Overview
In September 2022, a new solo exhibition by Dan Rawlings inaugurates a partnership between the Galerie Chenus Longhi and the Château de Lamazières, the art center of the city of Cormeilles-en-Parisis located in the Paris basin. The poetic and political work of the English artist is presented on the occasion of the European Heritage Days, this year under the sign of sustainable heritage, in a context of climate change. Indeed, Dan Rawlings questions the place of nature in our industrialized society, and thus the future of our planet.
2052, the title of the exhibition, refers us to the projections of climate change specialists and presents a set of new works. With a somewhat dystopian installation in the center of the gallery, we are lost between past, present and future, in a time when our oil and gas resources will be exhausted, our earth will be asphyxiated and hope will try to be reborn no matter what.
