Pro176: Rocket On The Battelfield

The French artist Pro176, known in rap music under the name of Profecy, is the subject of the third solo exhibition in the Graffuturism series. Pro176 has been immersed in the hip-hop culture since the late 80s and quickly made his mark on the European graffiti scene with a style all his own. But it is since 2008 and his meeting with the American Seen, that he abandons the spray can in favor of the brush and focuses on his studio work. He draws his inspiration from the comic books of his childhood and speaks of "astromorphism" to evoke his painting all in distortion, with shapes stretched to reach a psychedelic abstraction of bright colors. Recently settled in Valencia, Spain, Pro176 is interested in new artistic practices such as ceramics. In the exhibition « Rocket on the Battlefield », he shows his very first ceramics alongside a set of paintings on canvas and paper.
