Robert Proch: Turn The Corner

16 November - 21 December 2013
Overview

"In the world of painting, it is impossible to have a completely unique style, but the goal is to distinguish ourselves from each other and I do my utmost to obtain this unique touch." — Robert Proch

The exhibition "Turn the Corner" is the very first solo exhibition of Robert Proch in France. Young talent of the Polish scene, Robert Proch graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan in 2012. He has been painting in the street for ten years now. Inspired by various artists such as Francis Bacon or Jacek Malczewski, Robert Proch has developed a unique work between figuration and abstraction. His painting shows a real plastic defragmentation with a strong narrative and intimate dimension. The viewer is faced with dizzying and hypnotic scenes.

"As I experimented, I felt the need to reduce things, to go directly to the essential. And for that, abstract forms have a tremendous power of suggestion."

In "Turn the Corner", the artist unveils more than twenty-five works on canvas, on paper, but also on more unusual supports for him such as wood. In 2012, Robert Proch met with great success in Great Britain in Steve Lazarides' gallery, The Outsiders. A year later, the French public gave him a no less enthusiastic welcome and collectors immediately snatched up the works of the Polish prodigy. The exhibition sold out before its opening and marked the beginning of a long-term collaboration with the Chenus Longhi gallery.
