iota Belgian, b. 1991

Biography
Élisa Morlet, known as Iota, lives and works in Brussels. While her name means "the smallest detail" in Greek, the Belgian artist has gained recognition for her monumental murals created around the world. She is now considered one of the rising stars of the contemporary muralist scene.
For over a decade, Iota has been developing a sensitive form of painting, evoking the elements of nature in all their power through movement and atmospheric colors, transitioning from dark to light tones, from which enigmatic human figures emerge. In her quest to explore the abstraction of emotions, Iota’s universe reveals the unconscious taking precedence over reality. Her painting transports us to the edges of the infinite. Painting with a brush on both walls and canvases, she has developed a highly refined and recognizable pictorial technique. Her pencil drawings on paper also reflect a meticulous technical approach and a psyche caught between restraint and release.
Chenus Longhi Gallery is delighted to announce its new collaboration with Iota as part of the District 13 fair at Hôtel Drouot, leading up to the artist’s first solo show at the gallery in late 2025.
